You may have noticed that in all of Nintendo's marketing for Wii Fit, players have been standing atop the Balance Board while it is set on a shiny, flat surface. However, what for those whose homes are carpeted throughout? According to a leaked copy of the instruction booklet, there may have been trouble ahead, but Nintendo has thought of a solution.
In order for the Balance Board to work correctly, the sensors underneath it need to be clear of obstruction - so thick carpets might have interfered with it. However, it looks as if the game will come with extensions for the feet of the accessory, lifting it just high enough to avoid any particularly lengthy pile.
Good ol' Nintendo, always thinkin'.

That photo says "Foot Extensions. Sold separately" so good news and bad news.
Personally I'll just try it & see. If it doesn't agree with the bathroom scales then I'll try sitting it on a piece of plywood.
I guess the extra feet are pretty simple things... if they sell 'em for, say, $4.95 I'd probably go for the 'official' solution.
