Many long-term fans of videogames have criticised Wii Fit for being too mainstream in its appeal to the casual gaming audience, but eagle-eyed players will spot a nod to Nintendo's classic past hidden in the new title.
GoNintendo reports that an image of Super Mario, pixelated as he was back in the 8-BIT era of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, appears as you take a jog around Wii Fit's virtual park. Other retro icons including the Mushroom, Goomba and Star are also said to appear around Wiifitty Island.
Just the kind of references, we reckon, that'll keep the 'old school' player contented.

Yes I've seen two and I have heard there is a goomba on basic run island run you first go in front of your guide to the yellow dog then go in front to the black dog, you will go through a cave and there will be a goomba to your right. I have seen myself some Marios, and I spotted them myself. On Basic Run Distance: Long you can see two, one in a cliff close to a red bridge, the other is on the first red bridge you go on in Island Lap.
