If you're already eagerly looking ahead to Wii tiles that will make further use of the Balance Board that comes bundled with Wii Fit, then RTL's Winter Sports 2009 and RTL Biathlon might fit the athletics bill.
Currently scheduled for release in autumn, both games will make use of the Balance Board (although in which events haven't yet been confirmed). We're no genii, but we're guessing a whole lot of skiing will be involved.
