Thanks for putting this list together! I spent a long time looking for a good list of balance board games and yours is very good! It will make our shopping much easier. :)

great list! Thank you for it. I'm really bummed at the lack of game developer imagination when it comes to the balance board though. Why can't I fight zombies or space pirates and get a work out from it? Seriously, if you want gamers to get their butts off the couch, the give them GAMES! Not workout videos :P

I'd like to see a Wii Fit Pilates game. Any plans?

Balance Board Blog said...

No plans at the moment. Your best bet is Let's Pilates on the Nintendo DS.

If anything pops up, you can be sure we'll report on it.

Do you know if there is a wii game out there with more step excersises in it like those on the wii fit game? I really enjoy those but don't feel they push me enough, was hoping that there would be a whole disc devoted to step aerobics somewhere!!

Balance Board Blog said...

There's no game that is specifically centred around stepping, but you may want to keep an eye out for Cardio Workout and EA Sports Active to see if they suit your needs. :) Thanks!

just got the balance board, love it but are there any games that have surfing or are there any surfing games in the works?

Thanks for posting this! There are several games for Wii Balance Boards that I didn't know about... time to make an order!

i reaaaaaaally want to buy the golds gym game but cant seem to find any information on whether or not its coming to the UK..please help someone??!

Rob said...

Soph, I dont think it will get released in the UK anytime soon :-(

I am in the UK and I play it as I have soft modded my wii.

Using the wii Zelda game you can download from the internet a saved game which allows you to install applications one being the backup launcher to play downloaded games (iso) images.

This probably doesn't help you but its the best of the fitness games by far imo and not just a glorified fitness dvd like fitness coach its fun, active games.

IM sure EA sports active which has boxing and even kickboxing will be just as good if not better though.

Rob said...

Also wonder if the UK/Assume European too release of
Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009 will have any game control fixes?

Probably not, shocking really.
Surely it was tested prior to release :-(

Great post. Now that I have the riser for the balance board, I'm really hoping that someone will release a proper step aerobics program with some decent music, planned workouts and variety.

Anonymous said...

I would love to see more step aerobics too. That was my favorite part of Wii Fit but definitely not challenging enough.

We just got the Wii Balanceboard and love it! We had to get We Ski and Snowboard - what a blast. How about Wii programmers coming up with bicycle racing courses and some surfing plus water skiing games - look out for that shark!

Hi! Great post!
Any chance to see some surfing games for the balance board?
Cheers from Brasil!

Ubisoft has released some preview videos and information on Your Shape. Uses a camera instead of the nunchuk/remote combo. not really clear on whether or not it uses the balance board or not.
