A Canadian professor, commenting on a federal study looking at the link between obesity and television viewing, has stated that Wii Fit won't make much of a difference to the physical health of its users, claiming that most gamers will stop using it soon.
Speaking to the St. Catharine's Standard, John Hay, a professor of health science The Brock University said, "Sure you are more active than someone who is just sitting on the couch [when playing Wii Fit], but I think it will end up like all video games. It will have its time and then pass,"
This is one of the most lingering arguments about Wii Fit; whether its use will last the test of time with players. Perhaps Hay is right in that Wii Fit won’t change the world on its own, but perhaps the development more Balance Board fitness titles will help encourage continued, healthy use of the accessory for a long time.
