Despite the success of Wii Fit around the world, it has also faced its fair share of criticism, whether it be the bungled BMI analysis or being a poor excuse for 'real' exercise.
Tech News World's Ricky Bills is certainly planet firmly within the negative camp, explaining that Wii Fit is for zombies, and that "disguising a balance board as a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise routine seems a disservice to Wii consumers."
He also berates Wii Fit for emphasising controlling the game via the Balance Board over real, beneficial physical movements, and for being another reason for gamers to avoid leaving the house to exercise on a nice, sunny day.
Harsh... but perhaps he does have a good point. Have we all fallen for Nintendo's slick marketing for Wii Fit, when in reality its advantages are minimal?
