Wii Move - a WiiWare rival for Wii Fit? [Confirmed! Updated!]

To say we're intrigued about this is an understatement. A mysterious video entitled "Wii Move - Balance Board Innovation" has appeared on YouTube, and looks to be the prelude to another project that makes use of the new hardware. The footage features nothing other than a computerised lady running, while a clock ticks frantically in the background.

Even more exciting (and we're going by the video's tags here so nothing is concrete whatsoever) is that it appears to be an independently developed title, possibly for WiiWare, and planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2008.

There's also mention of E3 (held next month), so maybe we'll hear more about the project then. We'll bring you more as soon as we get it.

UPDATE:

Balance Board Blog contacted the YouTube video poster, who confirmed that Wii Move is in fact a real title is in the works by Pherosoft, a small team made up by Ex EA and Rockstar North employees:

"Wii Move is the first Project from PheroseSoft, a small 7 man team, made up from past members of EA Canada Burnaby and Rockstar North. The game looks to but an unexpected slant on the Wii Balance Board. Look for Wii Move to hit the download service in quarter four 08"
