Below are the first screenshots of Don King Boxing (previously Don King Presents: Prizefighter) for the Nintendo Wii. After a lengthy delay and promises that its gameplay has been completely overhauled following the disappointing PS3 and 360 versions of the title, it'll hit the ring in March - Wii Balance Board gym training included:

New screenshots of Marble Saga: Kororinpa have emerged this week. Check them out in the slideshow below:

Stuff.tv has recently got to grips with two Wii Balance Board-supported games, namely Shaun White Snowboarding and Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party. See if you can spot the name-game mistake:

Updated release schedules for the Nintendo Wii in Europe are now showing that Play Logic's Wii Balance Board-supported racer, Vertigo, will be released in the region on March 20, 2009.
Previous confirmation had only had the game down as being launched in 'Q1 2009', so it's pleasing to see the window narrowed down. Still, it's far from official confirmation, and it could change as the date approaches.
Still no word on Vertigo's US release.

If we're looking at the types of 'serious' games that the Wii Balance Board could support, EA's parkour-inspired Mirror's Edge (PS3/360) is a fantastic example, complete with running, balancing, and close combat. Watch how it might work in the following video:

Most protective Wii Balance Board sleeves are designed to wrap themselves snugly around the accessory, but Dream Gear has a simpler idea with its Neo Fit cover.
Made from Neoprene (the same material as wet suits), it simply sits on top of the Wii Balance Board. Available in either grey or pink, it'll cost you $17.99 from Amazon.com.

Bandai Namco has recently announced that the Wii Balance Board-supported We Ski has sold in excess of 1 million copies across the world.
The wintry title was the first third-party title to support the Wii Balance Board, and its sales have no doubt been helped by its budget price.
Its sequel We Ski and Snowboard is released in March, so there's still plenty of time to get a flavour for it with the original.

Here's a new Wii Fit advert from Japan, which it looks like advertises how the game can help you manage your diet, if you must stuff yourself throughout the week:

Edit: Yes it does! Grab your copy from Amazon.com here.

It's Christmas Day, and what better Wii Balance Board-supported game to show off than We Ski and Snowboard. Tag challenge multiplayer gameplay this time around:

Skate It takes place in San Venelona, a city left in ruins after a mysterious natural disaster. While this is terrible news for most people, for extreme sports enthusiasts, it leaves the most amazing playground for experimentation. The game whisks you along, giving you the freedom to complete the many, many challenges it lays in front on a journey to experience the thrill of gaining sponsors and the coveted title of Skater of the Year.
Skate It makes the most ambitious use of the Wii Balance Board to date, allowing basic steering by tilting back and forth, and allowing players to perform tricks by tapping different quadrants of the accessories surface. Basic movement, let alone any fancy stunts, is difficult to get the hang of at first, but with a little perserverence, you'll discover that Skate It's Wii Balance Board controls add an element of immersion that traditional controls could never match.
San Venelona and Skate It's other locations (European locales which you'll experience from time to time) aren't the most ambitiously detailed on the Nintendo Wii, but the rugged, gritty landscapes do have a sense of charm, and the whole thing chugs along at a slick pace throughout. You'll not see another soul on your trip, but the likelihood is that you'll be too hooked on skating or creating custom trick lines to notice. It's all backed by a suitably no-nonsense soundtrack, made up of artists including The Clash, LL Cool J, and Suicidal Tendencies.
Expect to finish the career mode in around 8 hours, but get drawn in by the multiplayer options and you'll squeeze a lot more gameplay out of Skate It.
It may lack polish in certain areas, but in Wii Balance Board terms, if you're looking for a 'hardcore' option away from the likes of Wii Fit and Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, Skate It is your best bet yet for extreme sports thrills.

DK Games has confirmed that Equilibrio for WiiWare will include levels that have been specifically adapted for use with the Wii Balance Board. The developer's Christophe Kohler told Videogamer:
"...the game has also been adapted FOR the Wii Balance Board. When using the Balance Board, players will get to play "alternative" and simpler levels so that it is possible to finish the game with only the balance (moreover, this is necessary to win one of the 25 prizes)."

Shaun White Snowboarding is one of the most accomplished Wii Balance Board-supported games yet, and figures show that it has sold 40% of the title's total across all formats. With that in mind, a sequel would appear likely, and in an interview this week, Shaun White appears to have blurted out confirmation:
"Now that I have the knowledge and I can speak to programmers better and I understand a lot more about what’s possible and what’s not possible, this will all help with the next game,” he said.
Ubisoft has denied the claims, though, saying “We have not announced any plans for future projects with Shaun.”

We Ski & Snowboard / Family Ski and Snowboard for the Nintendo Wii will be released in Europe on February 27, reports today suggest.
The Wii Balance Board-supported title by Namco is the sequel to Family Ski / We Ski and (as the name suggests) features snowboarding as an addition. There's also bigger mountains, and a host of new gameplay modes.
No firm date is yet set for We Ski & Snowboard's release in the United States.

Wii Fit 2 has today been rumoured in Japanese magazine Game Lab, whose page of gaming whispers has often been accurate. About Wii Fit's sequel it reads:
"Game company "N" [Nintendo] is said to be working on a second iteration of its fitness game, "W" [Wii Fit]. New features apparently include stretching and massages. A certain former U.S. Army instructor has reportedly been approached about endorsing the game."
Given the success of Wii Fit, a sequel was almost inevitable! Hopefully we'll be able to bring you some more concrete details soon.

After reporting on the Wu Fit Balance Board yesterday - an Asian-made copycat of Nintendo's accessory, a video review of the device has appeared on eBay. Somewhat surprisingly, it appears to work pretty accurately with Wii Fit:

Having difficulty tracking down a copy of Wii Fit? You're definitely not the only one, and Nintendo realises it. For the umpteenth time this year, it has spoken out to reveal it is doing it all it can to get the exer-game onto shelves, but it still may not be able to meet demand:
“We are making every effort to ensure that the production of Wii Fit matches demand this Christmas. We have increased our shipment of Wii Fit into Europe this Christmas to help meet demand as best we can. Despite increasing global production and shipping more product into the market than ever before, we may still have some stock shortages of Wii Fit.”
