Hudson Soft's snowboarding racer Snowboard Riot has skidded its way onto WiiWare in Europe this morning.
Costing 1000 Wii Points, Snowboard Riot sees players competing on perilious mountainside slopes for racing glory, with a variety of weapons and Wii Balance Board control thrown in for good measure.
Snowboard Riot received middling reviews on its release earlier on this year in the US, so be sure to read up before you splash out.

In his latest video blog to promote EA Sports Active, fitness buff Bob Greene talks about exercising from home:

2K Sports has released the following video of Don King Boxing on Wii, which shows off how players will use the Wii Balance Board to duck and weave during bouts:

Go Play Lumberjacks and Go Play Circus Star will both be released for the Nintendo Wii in June, Majesco Entertainment has confirmed.
Both games support the Wii Balance Board - the first in frantic wood-chopping action, and the second in a game that lets players live out the life of a big top star in a number of exciting activities.
Go Play City Sports joins the above games in a range of titles that all support the Wii Balance Board. We'll have more info very soon.


New details have emerged about Majesco's Go Play Lumberjacks for Wii.
The four-player party game features 15 wily woodchoppers, including Jack the lumberjack, Jill the chainsaw-wielding beauty, a peg-legged pirate, ninja assassin and medieval knight, among others, and features five game categories - Sawing, Axe Throwing, Climbing, Chopping, and Water Events.
Using the Wii Remote to cut, the Wii Balance Board can be added for even more intense lumberjacking action.

NewU: Inside Out

Hudson Soft has confirmed that the upcoming Adventure Island: The Beginning for WiiWare will support the Wii Balance Board.
The title will feature classic 2D Adventure Island gameplay, as well as a selection of mini-games - including a 3D Balance Board-supported skateboard level - and online leader boards.
Adventure Island: The Beginning is due for launch this April.

We Ski and Snowboard's now out in the US, but has been on Japanese shelves since late last year. Here's how the Wii Balance Board-supported game's being advertised on TV over there:

NewU: Inside Out supports the Wii Balance Board, it has been confirmed in the game's announcement today.
The title has been conceived in collaboration with Fitness First, the largest health and fitness operator in the world, and You Are What You Eat, a well known TV format and healthy eating book series.
NewU includes real-life video of six of Fitness First’s leading Personal Trainers to take you through a custom workout (with help from the Wii Balance Board), and allows players to select a lifestyle goal in order to create their exercise plans and their individual nutritional plans.
NewU: Inside Out is currently scheduled for release in Q3 2009.

SEGA has released a short teaser trailer to celebrate the announcement of Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games - looks like snowboarding's going to be an event!


SEGA has today announced Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics and confirmed that it supports the Wii Balance Board!
A sequel to 2008's smash hit themed on the summer Olympics, it will feature events including Alpine Skiing and Speed Skating.

Majesco Entertainment has announced a group of three new motion-sensing family games for the Nintendo Wii, all of which support the Wii Balance Board.
The first title in the line is Go Play Lumberjax which is slated to launch late spring. Additional games include Go Play City Sports and Go Play Circus Star which will roll out in Summer and Fall respectively.
Go Play Lumberjax is a party game that lets players use the Wii Remote to chop, climb, saw and logroll to victory in more than 15 outdoor events. Go Play City Sports features six classic games played on street “courts” filled with manhole covers and parked cars. Finally, Go Play Circus Star lets players perform for the big top crowds in 15 different games.

We hunted this down on YouTube recently, and we'll let the description speak for itself:
"Wii Fit. Board data is collected through MaxMSP using disis.aka.wiiremote external and relayed via UDP network packets to a Linux laptop running a hacked version of Neverball."

It didn't seem like Ski and Shoot got any press in the US, but in certain parts of Europe, the Wii Balance Board-supported title enjoyed TV spots such as the one below:

Which of the many exercises in the upcoming EA Sports Active is largely unknown, but we now learn that one of them will be cardio boxing.
The snippet of information comes from EA's Peter Moore, who spoke to the Starpress. He added:
"Lifestyle sports is becoming more and more important to that Wii consumer," says EA Sports president Peter Moore. "It's great for people who can't get out to a gym or don't feel quite comfortable going to a gym."
