Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games released October 13

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games will be released in the US on October 13, SEGA has announced.

Hula Wii 2 supports Wii Balance Board


Hula Wii was never released outside of Japan, and we wouldn't bet on its sequel, announced today, winging its way to foreign climes either.

The Hawaiian dance game that supports the Wii Balance Board is back, complete with a new set of routines and plenty more songs to wiggle along to.

It'll hit Japan this October.

Walk It Out Supports Wii Balance Board


Walk It Out will support the Wii Balance Board, Konami has confirmed in announcing the game today.

In Walk It Out, players stroll through a virtual world that evolves in sync with an on-screen avatar's footsteps. Skyscrapers, windmills, and lighthouses will spring up as players successfully step to the beat of a background music track.

Walk It Out uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to track player movement. The game also supports the Wii Balance Board peripheral, and is compatible with Konami's own Dance Dance Revolution dance mat controller.

120 songs are featured in Walk It Out, including "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas, "La La Land" by Demi Lovato, and Jesse McCartney's "How Do You Sleep?"

Wii Fit Plus to cost just $20 in US? Cheap Wii Fit Plus!

Nintendo has previously stated that Wii Fit Plus will be available as a standalone game as well as packaged with the Wii Balance Board, but just how much will the game on its own cost?

Well, if early reports from Japan are anything to go by - not very much at all! Just the equivelant of $21 USD is what IGN reports today, which is cheap as chips for the exergaming expansion pack.

Summer Athletics 2009 details

Details of Summer 2009 for the Nintendo Wii and its Wii Balance Board support have now been released... including a so-called 'Balance Board Cup':

Console athletes will need their stability on the Wii Balance Board to control their character in the contest’s five disciplines. These are high jump, triple jump, hammer throwing, high dive and archery.

Like all contests and challenges in Summer Athletics 2009, the Balance Board cup is available in three difficulty settings - Easy, Average, and Difficult.

Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard Supports Wii Balance Board


Ubisoft has announced that Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard, a Nintendo Wii title based on the upcoming film of the same name, will support the Wii Balance Board.

The animated movie sees protagonist Arthur answer a distress call from Princess Selenia, who is menaced by the nefarious Maltazard, while the Nintendo Wii game will, Ubisoft reveals, include a variety of mini-games based on the adventure that will make use of the Wii Balance Board.

Given Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard, we're unsure if it'll find its way to the rest of Europe and beyond, but we'll keep you posted!
